How do I know when I’m ready to have sex?

Everyone is different when it comes to being ready to have sex. Just like sex drive, lots of people will exaggerate about how much sex they’re having or about when they started having sex. The most important thing is that whatever you’re doing makes you feel good and you don’t feel pressured into doing what makes you feel uncomfortable.

There are heaps of things you can do without having full on sex and lots of ways you can give pleasure to yourself or your partner if you want to. Sex is a very personal and close experience and it’s important to feel close to and trust the person you’re having sex with.

Once you’ve decided to have sex, make sure you stay safe by using condoms and go to your doctor or sexual health clinic for advice on contraception before you have sex.
