There are lots of different types of STIs but the most common ones in New Zealand are chlamydia, genital warts, genital herpes and gonorrhea.

Many STIs don’t have any symptoms so it’s important to get checked out if you’ve had sex without using a condom. Most STIs are easy to cure so if you think you could have an STI, see your doctor or a nurse as soon as possible. Use the Clinic Finder to find a GP (doctor) or sexual health clinic near you.
